Diverse Experience Makes New Franchisee the Ideal Fit

With years of diverse experience in planning, operations, and managing sales teams, Kregg Barney is the ideal fit as a City Wide Facility Solutions franchise owner. Kregg has worked in many industries including hospitality, technology, and project management- he has spent his time gaining all the skills needed to become a successful franchise owner. He even spent time managing businesses outside of the United States in Canada and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“Kregg understands the importance of culture, customer engagement, and operational efficiency needed to run a successful business, and these traits are exactly aligned with our franchise model,” says David Braun, City Wide’s Director of Franchise Development.

FBA Broker Jim Nail was also impressed by Kregg’s accomplishments. Not only does Kregg have years of notable professional experience, but he also has an educational background that contributes to his success. Kregg graduated from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and knew that this business opportunity was scalable.

A Community-Minded Essential Business

The COVID pandemic had a dramatic effect on many businesses. Luckily for City Wide, their janitorial, commercial cleaning, and disinfecting services allowed them to be deemed an essential business. This is what drew Kregg to City Wide, the company maintained its success even amidst the COVID pandemic. In 2020, the average franchisee gained over $5.5 million in sales. The brand even reached  $400,000,000 record sales during the pandemic.

City Wide’s 2020 success was no coincidence. With an early realization of COVID’s severity, they took a proactive approach to help ensure business owners could keep their doors open. The early stages of the pandemic marked the beginning of the company’s new programs to safely reopen businesses by keeping them cleaner than ever. Their high standards for cleanliness and sanitation were set with the hopes of preventing another pandemic.

What makes City Wide different from competitors is their big-picture approach and community ideals. They took their time to find out what would ensure the overall safety of the customers entering the businesses they work with. Amidst the pandemic, City Wide made sure businesses were not left feeling underprepared for reopenings. They worked with their clients to implement safety features such as sanitizing stations, disinfectant wipes, and increased ventilation rates.

About City Wide

City Wide began in 1961, and since then they have grown to become a leader in their industry with more than 70 territories in the United States and Canada. While City Wide has maintained the same proactive, problem-solving attitude they’ve always had, they have grown to break the mold of traditional janitorial services. Instead, City Wide operates as a sales and management company. A desire to help others succeed makes City Wide a strong company to work with for both medium-sized business owners and aspiring franchisees.

Now, 60 years after City Wide began operating, they have gone from a small cleaning service to a company that manages more than 100 million square feet of commercial space. They have worked by their core values of community, accountability, and professionalism to “create a ripple effect by positively impacting the people and communities they serve.”

City Wide’s ideal candidate as a franchise owner aligns with their business goals by being a proactive, results-oriented, and problem-solving individual.

Note: We use the term “Franchise Broker” because it is the legal term for our profession. Others in the industry use “Franchise Consultants” which they self-define. We choose to use the legal term as we feel it’s more appropriate and clear. Consultants typically charge for services. Franchise Brokers are paid by the Seller, not the Buyer. There is no charge to the Buyer for our Franchise Broker services.
