In December 2018, FBA Broker Chuck McKinney was introduced to a client from Vietnam who was ready to come to the States for a career-change. The client was seeking to become a business owner for a franchise that would allow more quality time with his family, and needed direction. Recently settling down in San Diego, the client called Chuck to discuss potential franchise concepts, and soon learned that there were even more options that could potentially fit his lifestyle needs and lead to franchise success.

“I gave him an overview of the FBA process, which involves taking time to understand his needs and wants,” McKinney said. “This includes conducting broad research to find other businesses that might be aligned to all of his needs.”

The client was open to the process, and they began the steps of creating a Zoracle profile and digging into what he really wanted as a business owner. They discovered that a work-life balance and having time for his family were the most important attributes of his decision – and that the business model he desired would need to allow just that.

“As we continued conversation with multiple franchisors, he became very excited about one opportunity – FastSigns,” McKinney said.

The client’s professional experience in the printing industry in Vietnam showed that FastSigns was indeed a natural fit.

“FastSign’s franchise developer did an outstanding job teaching what the support model was all about,” McKinney continued. “He flew out to San Diego to introduce him to other local FastSigns owners in San Diego, and [the client] was thrilled.”

Within just 45 days of learning about the franchise opportunity and working with the FastSigns team, the client decided he was ready to make the commitment.

By working with Chuck and taking the time to go through the FBA process, the client was able to identify the right franchise fit for his lifestyle, and choose a successful business model that would fully support him and his family. FBA tools and resources allow franchise brokers and franchisors to connect and identify what the ideal match may be for clients like this every day, which leads to long-term franchise success.

“The FBA process gives us the ability to ask the questions that will reveal what clients really want. When someone comes and says ‘I really like this franchise’ we say that’s great but tell me why – this is the difference the FBA makes to help us succeed.”
