Welcome to our first episode of “How to Sell These Brands, Season 2” in practice! This mentoring series marks a shift in how we approach pitching GOOD franchises – and it’s an opportunity for our very own Brokers to step into the spotlight, presenting and discussing brands from our FLS with a fresh and engaging approach for all to practice.

In our latest session, we had the pleasure of having FBA Brokers Beau Eckstein and T.J. Corey take the lead in presenting two exciting brands, Send Me A Pro and Mosquito Mike.

This session was an interactive, dynamic exchange designed to mirror real-world scenarios brokers might encounter.

The Format of How to Sell These Brands, Season 2:

  • Broker-Led Presentations: Each session features FBA Brokers presenting brands they have done their research on, previously pitched, and want to share insights on. This peer-to-peer learning model fosters a deeper understanding of each brand’s unique selling points and challenges.
  • Realistic Role Plays: Imagine a scenario where there are no prepared questions, only practical ones that could arise in real sales calls. This approach turns each session into a mock call or role play, with our hosts answering questions as if they were the Candidate and the Broker.
  • Spontaneous Speed Rounds: In keeping with the dynamic nature of real-world discussions, the presentations include a ‘speed round’ format. This means the questions are quick and off the cuff, creating an authentic and engaging learning experience.

This format of mentoring is a game-changer for our community. It’s an interactive and practical way to learn about the brands we represent, equipping our Brokers with the skills and knowledge to excel in their sales conversations.

Revolutionizing Home Services: The Send Me A Pro Pitch

Beau took the stage to start the session, pitching an innovative brand that’s reshaping the home service industry: Send Me A Pro.

He describes this brand as the ‘Uber for Home Services,’ offering a unique and streamlined approach to scheduling various home service professionals. Send Me A Pro was born from the founder’s (who was a personal trainer) realization of a gap in the market and noticing that clients often sought recommendations for services like pet sitting or lawn care, asking questions like “do you know someone who does ____?” and so on. The founder expanded the scope to include a broader range of home services.

Send Me A Pro stands out with its user-friendly app, making it incredibly easy for customers to connect with various home service professionals. Beau’s pitch delved into the specifics of the brand, including its origins, growth trajectory, and how it has successfully filled a niche in the market.

While we can’t reveal all the details from his pitch (you’ll have to join the sessions for that!), some key highlights include:

  • Ideal Locations: Beau discussed the best locations for Send Me A Pro franchises, considering factors like market demand and demographic trends.
  • Support Systems: The pitch touched on the various systems within the brand that support franchise owners, ensuring their success and scalability.
  • Scalability and Growth: Beau emphasized how scalable Send Me A Pro is, making it an attractive option for potential franchisees looking for growth opportunities.
  • Total Investment: “What is the total investment required for a Send Me A Pro franchise?” T.J. provided details on the financial aspects, including initial investment requirements, which are crucial for potential franchisees to understand.
  • Suitable Buyer Profile: “Who is the ideal buyer for a Send Me A Pro franchise?” T.J. answers this and provides the characteristics and backgrounds that make a candidate well-suited for owning and operating a Send Me A Pro.

Eliminating Pests, Enhancing Lives: The Mosquito Mike Pitch

Then it was T.J. ‘s turn to spotlight Mosquito Mike, a home services brand that offers specialized services in residential mosquito control, a necessity that has gained importance due to the increasing prevalence of mosquito-borne illnesses.

Mosquito Mike was created in response to the recurring emergence of mosquito-borne diseases like the West Nile virus. The brand has successfully tapped into the home services market by offering mosquito control solutions, which have become mainstream over the past 8 to 10 years. This growing familiarity with the service makes Mosquito Mike a timely and relevant business opportunity.

Highlights from the Mosquito Mike Pitch:

While we can’t divulge the full details of this pitch either, here are some key topics Beau and T.J. covered:

  • Low Employee Count and Overhead Costs: Discussing the operational aspects of Mosquito Mike, including the number of services vehicles needed and the overall staffing requirements.
  • Work-Life Balance for Franchisees: Highlighting how the Mosquito Mike franchise model supports a healthy work-life balance for franchise owners.
  • Investment Requirements: T.J. provided insights into the investment required to start a Mosquito Mike franchise, crucial for potential franchisees to understand.
  • Experience Needed: Discussing the level of experience necessary to successfully run a Mosquito Mike business.
  • Specialization in Mosquito Control: Answering Beau’s question on service specialization, T.J. confirmed that the main business focus is on mosquito control, though they also offer treatments for ticks, fleas, and other outdoor pests.
