Valenta’s Innovation Attracts New Managing Director Richard Nohe
Before he joined Valenta Franchise as a Managing Director, Richard Nohe made a name for himself as the guy who could identify, understand, and start solving an issue before most people became aware of it. So says Legal500, who named Richard Individual of the Year in 2015.Richard’s experience, expertise, and skill set make him a perfect match for his role at Valenta. Valenta’s innovative business model and enormous portfolio of business solutions is exciting for Richard, whose passion lies within helping businesses solve today’s challenges with the most up-to-date technologies and best practices.
Richard has intimate knowledge and hands-on experience in legal and corporate affairs, compliance, regulation, digital transformation, cybersecurity and data privacy, geopolitical risk management and risk mitigation, and understanding mind-boggling, multi-jurisdictional contracts. In addition to serving in senior leadership roles at BT Federal and AboveNet, he’s served as a Congressional Fellow at the Brookings Institution, a post-graduate researcher at Columbia University, and the director of the evening news at CBS News.
Richard’s educational background is just as impressive, with a bachelor’s in English from Augusta University, a master’s degree in telecommunications from New York University, and a Doctor of Law degree from New York Law School. He’s also earned Executive Certification in Organizational Design for Digital Transformation from MIT Sloan School of Management, and he’s a certified Information Privacy Professional in the U.S.
Richard is tasked with building out Valenta’s U.S. Central Region business on both the customer-facing and franchise sides, and we’re excited to watch him do his thing! We caught up with Richard recently to check in and ask him some questions about why he chose Valenta and what advice he has about starting and running a business.
When asked why he chose Valenta, Richard said he liked the company’s compelling business model with global off-shore delivery capabilities and the innovative franchise structure of GTM. Richard’s advice to anyone starting a business is to be sure you are financially ready and excited by the opportunity. Also, focus on an area that really interests you, something you would be interested in even if not doing it to make money. Richard’s most important advisor is his wife because she is not interested in business and keeps him grounded. The best business advice he has received is that, “Success is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have.” He plans to get the most out of his business by focusing on strategy for the long term, tactics for the near term, and making sure they are in sync.
24/7 Operational Capabilities and Technical Expertise Capped the Decision on Valenta for Michael Taylor
Michael Taylor has a long track record of leadership excellence in the technology, logistics, energy, and consulting sectors. Over the past 22-plus years, Michael’s experience in strategic and operational leadership and his background in financial analysis and business intelligence have helped organizations like Amazon and PWC improve their processes for greater efficiency and a bigger bottom line. Michael’s wealth of experience, and the passion he brings to the table, make him a natural fit for his role as a Managing Partner at Valenta Franchise. He readily admits that his favorite thing to do is to deconstruct complex processes and help organizations identify ways to streamline, eliminate waste, and leverage technologies like AI and RPA to improve efficiencies across their operation.
As the founder of his own consulting firm specializing in executive and operational leadership development and training, Michael brings a wealth of expertise to Valenta Franchise as he helps clients with a focus on the logistics, healthcare, energy, and tech startup sectors in his home state of Utah.
Michael understands the importance of embracing organizational change and digital transformation to stay competitive in an uncertain and ever-changing economy. Through his partnership with Valenta, he helps businesses of all sizes understand it and embrace it, too. One of the most satisfying aspects of his job, he says, is seeing the immediate, positive impact of streamlining on a company’s bottom line. But it’s not just helping businesses transform, scale, and increase their profitability that Michael finds gratifying. He always comes away with new perspectives, skills, and insights that add to his robust knowledge and expertise.
Luckily, despite his full schedule, we were able to catch up with Michael to find out why he chose Valenta and get his perspective on leadership and business success. When asked why he chose Valenta, he answered that Valenta’s value proposition is compelling and unique in that it offers 24/7 operational capabilities, deep technical expertise and solutions that appeal broadly across all sectors. Valenta’s service offerings appeal to any business and lead at the cutting edge of rapidly evolving technology such as RPA and AI. Valenta’s case for growth and ability to deliver real-world results on behalf of clients is exciting.
Michael’s advice to anyone looking to start a business is, besides a thorough analysis of the numbers, market opportunity and assessing the teams and colleagues you’ll be partnering with, make sure you identify what talents, skills, experience, effort and level of commitment you are willing to bring to make your business successful. His most important business advisor is his mentor that he turns to for counsel and feedback in many aspects of his life, not just business. This mentor is authentic, caring, direct, thoughtful and extremely experienced in asking insightful questions that make Michael think.
The best business advice Michael has received is, “How effective are you as a leader or partner? At the end of the day, it does not quite matter as much how smart you are or how hard you work, if you are not effective in actually delivering the desired results and outcomes. And in my experience, my personal and professional effectiveness boils down to how well I communicate with and relate to others.” Lastly, he offers some tips on how to get the most out of business. He says to jump right in and own mistakes early on. The faster you embrace the ambiguity and unknowns of building out a network, generating and chasing leads, and approaching potential clients, the more quickly you will gain confidence in the process, the business, and your own abilities. He says his business success comes from clear, compelling, genuine, and frequent communication.
Valenta Fills the Resource Gap for Manoj Srivastava
After 30 years working the automotive supply industry in Detroit, Michigan, Valenta Managing Partner Manoj Srivastava had the experience, skills, and expertise he needed to start a new chapter in his career as a cost reduction consultant. He quickly realized, however, that without the wide range of resources he had access to in his positions as senior product manager and chief engineer for Fortune 500 companies, he wouldn’t be able to help businesses grow and thrive in the capacity he’d hoped for.
Then, in May, 2021, Manoj joined Valenta as a Managing Partner, which provides him with the resources and capabilities he needs to customize solutions for his clients. Manoj specializes in process optimization, from strategy to implementation, and in partnership with Valenta, he is able to offer comprehensive digital transformation, process optimization, and outsourcing to companies experiencing hyper-growth or companies who are losing their competitive edge to more streamlined competitors.
Manoj’s wealth of experience in re-engineering processes, cost reduction, and implementing automation and digital solutions translates to his clients across all verticals. In partnership with Valenta, he is not only able to develop strategies for all areas of a company’s operations, but also to provide the company with the resources they need to digitally transform or outsource some internal processes to save money and streamline systems.
From cognitive and conversational AI to robotic process optimization and machine learning, the digital transformation resources at Manoj’s fingertips help him help businesses cut unnecessary expenses and get back on track with healthy profit margins. And for his clients who put too much time, resources, and money into HR, customer service, scheduling, staffing, accounting, marketing, and other internal duties, Manoj is able to help them outsource some or all of these tasks to free up employees’ time, streamline staff, and reduce expenses.
Today, Manoj is living his dream of helping companies do business in the best way possible, and he continues to build on and expand his own expertise in the areas of technology and process automation. He lives to exceed clients’ expectations, and with Valenta, doing so is an easy lift.
Recently, we asked Manoj about his business and how being a Valenta Managing Partner has made it easier for him to do what he does best. He says he chose Valenta because he was pursuing the opportunity to be an independent cost reduction consultant, but was realizing that without being able to offer resources to do some of the work, it would be an uphill task. Valenta filled the resource gap that he had, and also offered the technology know-how that is in great demand.
His best advice to anyone looking to start a business is to do your research on the company you are buying. Their offerings must align with your passions for it to be successful. The best business advice Manoj has received is “Focus on the customer’s wants and needs and not what you will get out of it. Exceed customer’s expectations.” He plans to make his business a success by going after leads and keeping an open communication.
